Thank you my sister Sonia Nybosslady Anglin-Nelson for this prestigious president lifetime achievement award tonight . In the very beginning of the pandemic. I checked on my family and friends one by one. I reached out to check to see if everyone was ok. When I called my brother from another Paco Claxton to check on him. He text me back and gave me a number to call. When he picked up and he could barely speak. He told me he had the Covid 😞 and was going on a ventilator. The last thing he said to me was Bee go on live and shout me ok . He still was being himself Paco with all of that was going on around him. So I went live the next day and did what he told me to do. It ended up being being over two years of just trying too keep peoples spirits up and myself through music. I remember Kevin Spann calling me up urging me to keep going on live . He said it was very important for our mental health through this pandemic. So many DJs around the world was going live not realizing how many people we was touching through music. So with all of that said even though things is basically back to normal now. During that time my out look on Djaying and music changed.Giving people joy and good memories is very important to me now. We should never forget how very bad it was weather you had Covid or not. So for me this is for all the strong island warriors and beyond that I was able to touch through probably the worst time we have ever been through in our lives to date. Facebook, Instagram and Twitch platforms helped and was a help to us at that time I must say. It kept our minds busy while we was locked down in our homes. Never forget our fallen warriors and the warriors that survived the pandemic. Thank God everyday that he brought us through and honor our fallen.Always remember so we won’t take for granted what happened just because it’s over now. One thing that Simply The Best Event Group and The Legendary Dj Belal don’t do is be late to nooooo events. I got here at 1:30pm for a 7pm start. In this kind of weather we having today anything can happen while traveling to the event . Like a flat tire iin the rain, our an accident on the LIE or serious 2hr traffic . You can forget something like your laptop bag. So many things can happen before you get to the gig. . In my contract it’s only one thing that will stop me from not getting to your event and that A ACT OF GOD. Which means I’m in a hospital the day of the event god forbid . So you must give yourself as a professional Dj time to set up if you have equipment and prepare yourself . You have to load in and set up. Look at as a professional PA gig and you are the only special guest dj for the night. This is a Kappa event which means that you better be on point 100 percent or your name is done with there people. I treat all my clients the same no matter how big or small their event is Now I’m working tonight with a band and their sound man with their 8 piece band. The came at 5:30pm and they still trickling in. You get my drift! So my fellow dj’s always give yourselves a cushion for anything to happen.
